Hacienda CDC's Portland Mercado was severely impacted by the fire that tore through our main building on January 3rd.

Thanks to an incredible swell of community support, immediate funds were raised to support the small businesses who make up the Portland Mercado community including our market hall vendors, food carts, and commissary kitchen users. Together, community members, businesses and foundations donated $255,726.31 to directly support these businesses.

A special thanks to the many donors who contributed to this fund and our partners at Meyer Memorial Trust, Oregon Community Foundation, Marie Lamfrom Charitable Trust, Banner Bank, OnPoint Community Credit Union, Trail Blazers, Comcast, Unidos US, Unitus Community Credit Union, NW Natural, Port of Portland, Travel Portland, Raza Development Fund, Atlas Pizza, Pizza Otto, the Foster-Powell Business Association, and so many more. The Portland Mercado Fire Relief Fund officially closed as of January 30th, 2024.

Our next step is to rebuild this beloved community space that was lost to the fire. The rebuilding process will require time, planning, and resources and we are committed to bringing the Portland Mercado back to what it once was, if not better.
