Mass of Diaconal Ordination of Coulter McIntyre Join us at St. Mary’s Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception as Archbishop Alexander K. Sample confers the Sacrament of Holy Orders, ordaining Mr. Coulter McIntyre to the Order of Deacons.

Last week I had the great joy of visiting Queen of Peace Catholic Church and School in Salem.

What a blessing it was to be with this wonderful parish school community, and especially with the young people. They welcomed me with such joy, asked thoughtful questions, and were eager to share with me the things that matter to them, from their friends to their playground adventures.

I was also very impressed by their First Communion projects, which featured a monstrance with an image of Jesus revealed within the Eucharist. What a beautiful way to help teach and express the truth of the Real Presence of Jesus Christ in the Eucharist.

During my visit, I was grateful to bless the school’s new multipurpose room, sprinkling the walls with holy water as the students gathered together in prayer. This new space will be a real gift for the life and mission of the school.
