Story time:

I started my journey with a very physical hot vinyasa (breath for breath movement) style asana (pose) practice. At the time, I was introduced to it, I had just gotten out of a psych ward for mandatory treatment after a second su***de attempt.

At 20,
The fast paced vigorous practice was the only time I felt I could breath without a panic attack looming over me. The rest of the time I used alcohol to try and self medicate the demons in my head. I would fall on and off the physical practice.

At 23,
I took my first teacher training course. It profoundly changed my life. From the moment I started my first training I was trying to drench myself it whatever learning I could be a part of. I took a second training spread over months and assisted 2 more.
I met incredible teachers

At 27,
I got pregnant unexpectedly after going back to work at the club and signing up for my first Prana flow teacher training . I would work at night Monday-Thursday and have training Friday-Sunday. I stopped dancing when i was 20 weeks pregnant. The devotion that came from this training, gave me strength and focus. And I believe, a extraordinary birth for my little one.

At 28,
I walked into and asked for a job. She gave me her heart and became my family. Where I met my husband .

Now 33,
My practice has changed. I don’t teach classes anymore. My understanding continues to grow. My devotion continues to grow. Somedays are really fierce and others are slow and soft. What I have realized over the course of my learning is how to make my physical practice a piece of a life dedicated to a lifestyle and lifetime of learning and relearning over and over again.

Adho mukha vrksasana (hand stand pose) is my favorite pose. It makes me feel strong and I love the feeling of floating in the air💕💕📸

Today was the day that chunks of hair fell out nonstop. within an hour she called her dad and we all decided it was time to have a hair cutting party! She specifically asked Agnes (her stepmom) to keep her hair because she loves playing with it. It was an emotional moment, but also very exciting. She loves her new hair do. @ Portland, Oregon

Personal Invitation and Class Description from Mystic:

“In this moment the world seems more unpredictable then ever before. So much uncertainty, so much information/misinformation so many stressors that we may have never considered, anticipated or planned for. I don’t have answers for any of the problems or challenges that were currently facing, but I do have tools that can help ground, stabilize and even create space for clarity and hope.

This coming Sunday I invite you to join us for church! From the comfort of your own home we will be holding our second sermon of Stripper Church this months sermon is Yoga. I am deeply honored to have been called upon to lead this months Stripper Church and I am grateful for the technology that allows us to be together even when we can’t be in the same space.

For the service I am creating a slow and restorative movement sequence, meditation and reflection portion with a focus on breath, grounding, touch and this present moment. Now is the time of great uncertainty but it can also be a time of focus, processing, reflection and growth. The present moment is all that we have and it is up to us to decide what we are going to do with it.

Take good care everyone of yourselves and each other and I hope very much to see you at church next Sunday”
