Squeezebox Press

May I present the Squeezebox Press Pandemic Penpal Palooza! Recently a friend asked if I'd be willing to run a Squeezebox Press penpal program. We'd both heard about a hotline setting up isolated people to check in on each other on the phone, and we both agreed having the chance to make a new friend who checks on you and says hello IN THE MAIL would be even better! So if you're trying to keep up momentum from , or if you're just bored or lonely, or if you're nostalgic for the third-grade days of random penpals in faraway places, now is your moment to join in the fun. Plus this is one more way to make use of the dear old USPS, which I know a lot of people are trying to do lately as they are facing tough times. Here are the rules:
1. Send Squeezebox Press a message before midnight this Friday (5/15) with your name & address
2. If you don't already know me personally, (or maybe even if you do!) tell me 3-5 things you are interested in!
3. Anyone is welcome to participate! But if you have concerns about who gets your address, please let me know and I will make sure you are paired with someone you feel comfortable with.
4. Be prepared to actually write a letter. Penpal-ship is a two-way street, people, and you can't expect to get letters unless you are also willing to spend time sending letters.
5. I will have fun learning about you, and will send you your new pal's address in a private message or email. Hopefully by next Monday (5/18).
6. Of course feel free to share and/or tag any friends who you think would like to participate! (But I will be trying to match people with a new person they can get to know through the mail.)
I can't wait to see how this goes! Thanks Lily for the great idea and thank you friends for participating!

Hello everyone! Just wanted to let you know that there are still spots left in the class I’m teaching this September at Maine Media Workshop and College in Rockport. It’s going to be a 5-day, 40 hour week of learning all about letterpress and working on whatever projects you can come up with. (Cute personal stationery, business cards, wedding invites etc) It’s an exciting opportunity because the sky is the limit when you have a whole week to learn and experiment, and I will be there to help make whatever amazing design ideas you may have come to life. You’ll leave with a stack of beautiful paper items you’ve made for yourself, and significant new skills in letterpress printing, with the ability to come back as a member and use the studio for future projects. It will take place September 23rd-27th. And if you can’t make it yourself but know someone who would be interested, please let them know! I’ll put the link to sign up in my bio. And photo credit for the nice picture of MMWC goes to Drew Cornwall.
