Thinking of recording a studio version of this Jason Molina song. When I wrote this guitar part I didn't intend for it to be a cover. Once I sang this melody over it, I couldn't unhear it. If you haven't gone deeper than Magnolia Electric Company I highly recommend you do. I was floored the first time I heard Didn't It Rain. It's the reason I always try to track my guitar & vocals at the same time.
