As part of a larger expansion project for the City of Portland's Bureau of Environmental Services (BES), CHA led the design of two buildings to improve non-process facilities at the wastewater treatment plant. The maintenance and operations building will provide approximately 11,000 sq. ft. of shop space, staff locker/shower rooms, administrative office/conference spaces and an employee lunchroom/kitchen area. A separate storage building will provide approximately 3,000 sq. ft. of equipment and materials storage space.



CHA worked closely with the BES leadership, stakeholders and user groups to envision an inclusive design and modernized facilities that meet the demands of round-the-clock work that the BES plant staff provides.
