Portland's biggest celebration for the world's smallest park returns today! It's the annual .15k Mill Ends Race for the Gold! This Veteran's Day, I'd like to salute to my grandfather, who, under this flag, and wearing a uniform very much like this, survived a kamikaze attack on his destroyer in the south Pacific on December 12, 1944.🇺🇸 I'm proud of his service and the service of all our veterans who have made sacrifices in service of defending democracy and defeating fascism in all its forms. May one day such sacrifices never be needed again. ☮️
