Students leading deep breathing, mindfulness, guided imagery, and closing class… just as they see in the videos. 💛for their entire school. 💛

💛Yesterday, I had the honor of leading a school-wide training at a one of the schools we partner with alongside Chris Salamone, the school social worker. Together, we introduced simple, preventative tools—supported by my 5-minute videos—to strengthen co-regulation across the school community.

💛Chris and I have been doing this work side by side for over 10 years, always grounding it in trauma-informed practices and real, lived experiences from his work with students.

💛Yesterday, he shared something with the community.
He was working with a group of students who had experienced significant trauma—kids who struggled to sit still, to settle, to feel safe in their bodies.

💛One day, in the middle of a hard moment, as he tried to bring the group back together, a student said:
“Let’s do a guided imagery… like from Julie’s videos.”

💛That student then led the group through his own version.
And now… that same kind of moment echoed across an entire school.

💛A child who once struggled to regulate is now leading others.

A practice that was once offered—now owned.
A moment of support—now becoming a ripple.

That feeling on the first 60 degree day after a LONG winter in Maine☀️

✨Today at we had class outside for the first time.

✨We focused on regulating our nervous systems, especially after daylight savings!

✨Fresh air, deep breaths, listening to the bird sing, feeling the sun on our skin, connecting, dancing, playing and of course some

✨watching the kids and teachers connect with each other always reminds me that play, connection, laughter and free movement are an incredible recipe the help settle the nervous system.

☀️Once again kiddos, thank you for teaching me how to truly be present and to dance like no one’s watching!
