Just like a nurse or doctor may choose their profession out of compassion and a desire to help people while still deserving to be paid for their work, surrogates can be motivated by kindness and altruism while also being fairly compensated for the incredible role they take on.

“How could you give away your baby?” is one of the most common questions surrogates are asked.

In gestational surrogacy, the surrogate is not genetically related to the baby. After a thoughtful screening and matching process, surrogates choose the family they want to help and understand from the very beginning that the baby is legally and biologically the intended parents’ child.
