Surgery can be a challenging journey, but your breath can be a powerful tool to support healing before and after the procedure.
Breathwork helps reduce stress and calms the nervous system, which can improve how your body responds to surgery. Practicing slow, deep breaths increases oxygen flow, aiding tissue repair and lowering inflammation.
Before surgery, breathwork prepares your body and mind by reducing anxiety and promoting relaxation. After surgery, it supports pain management and speeds recovery by enhancing circulation and immune function.
Incorporate simple breathing exercises daily to connect with your body’s healing power. Start by sitting comfortably, inhaling slowly through your nose, holding for a moment, and then exhaling gently through your mouth. Repeat several times.
This practice is gentle, accessible, and can make a real difference during your healing process. Remember, your breath is always with you — use it to nurture and support your recovery.
