I took a break from Debby’s rain and headed off to Griffin, GA today for UGA’s 2024 Turfgrass Research Field Day. It was sunny and hot!

The event featured 8 research topics being showcased by the grad students and professors conducting the research. Categories included grub management in turf, ID and treatment of large patch, an ongoing tall fescue trial, and a zoysia seeding trial. They had exibitors onsite to answer questions and showcase new turf related products. Lastly, they offered several “self guided learning” opportunities including turf disease recognition and turf grass problem solving.

I had a great time learning about new technologies being applied to creating and managing turfgrass!
