Rapid Read: A Professional Speed Reading Program

Collin College Continuing Education will be offering Rapid Read as part of their Skills Training Classes this Spring 2018. You can follow the link below to sign up for the classes. The dates are as follows:

Tues Feb. 6: 6:30 - 9:30 pm
Thurs Feb. 8: 6:30-9:30 pm
Tues Feb. 13: 6:30-9:30 pm
Thurs Feb 15: 6:30-9:30 pm

This is a wonderful and exciting opportunity to learn how to increase your reading speed (double or tripling!) while improving comprehension.

There's more than one way to read!

There are four "tools" in your Reading Tool Box: Skimming, Scanning, Linear Reading, and Rapid Reading.

Each tool can be used to read any type of reading material. You might even use all four tools for one reading assignment.

Isn't it nice to have choices?

A wonderful but long novel with many pages and detailed descriptions by Elizabeth Berg. One of the advantages of speed reading is knowing your book is due at the library, but you are able to speed read it to completion that morning. ⚡️🔜🏆

Myth: You should understand EVERY word you read in order to comprehend the passage.

Fact: When you are reading and come across an unfamiliar word, SKIP it! Its meaning will usually be explained within the context of the paragraph.
