🎙️🏋🏾Wordplay Workout Exercise🏋🏻‍♂️🎙️

More times then not, when I talk more then I listen, I am afraid of being silent. Being scared to be silent can show up in a lot of different ways. Sometimes we find ourselves filling in space with things that are like empty calories, that rarely give actual energy, that are more likely to numb than help.

We can do this in freestyle.

Something taught me, while hosting the open mic at the legendary shadow lounge, was that:

“Silent” and “Listen” are spelt with the same letters.

In order for me to listen to what is happening with myself, or anyone/anything else, I need to be silent outwardly and inwardly. When we gave ourselves that space, the rhyme can take place.

This can be more challenge when improvising rhyme, because at no point in time do we really know what’s going to happen, so we can feel more pressure to keep spewing
out words.

When we do this, what we throw up sometimes doesn’t let us show up to the moment.

So we’ll call this exercise “Silent Stretches”.

🏃🏻And with that, we out!🏃🏾
🎽 Hope your day works out!🎽

Musical Poetic Sun shall rise and fall upon the Vernal Equinox, where will emerge to begin in chaos once more. “We Begin In Chaos:The book of Dawn and Dusk” opens March 20th at

Book 4 of the We Begin In Chaos series sets the audience on a crash course through a chain of beginnings exploring what happens in the face of failure. New worlds form at the command of powerful creators. Former dawns shed light on new failings. The creators recreate again and again until the only failure is found within themselves. The Book of Dusk and Dawn invites participants to reach beneath this age and uncover a lost history where we are not the first, but the latest in a series of resets and the act of ritual inquiry may determine whether or not we are the last.
