I’ve been a little quiet on here over the winter, and I wanted to share why, and also say how excited I am for what’s ahead!!!
The past few months have held a lot! I stepped into a full-time, mission-driven role helping women find sustainable careers, which feels incredibly aligned and meaningful. At the same time, I moved to a new city (right in the middle of January’s snowstorm, UGH), relocated my business, and helped my youngest teen transition into a new school district, all while learning to navigate life as a newly single parent.
There was also loss woven into all of that. I lost my uncle, and just after our move, my father passed away. Our relationship was complicated, but he was still my dad, and I’ve been giving myself space to move through that grief (thank you plant medicine).
Through all of it, I’ve kept coming back to the same place, plants. They’ve always been my grounding, my home, my sense of peace. Many of you have encouraged me for years to share this work more openly, and last year I finally took that leap and launched Common Ground Botanicals. And wow… you showed up for me in ways I’ll never forget! It was a season of growth, healing, and rediscovering parts of myself I had tucked away for a long time.
At the same time, I had to be honest about what my family needs. Stepping back into the workforce gives me stability, and I’m really proud of the path I’m building. It does mean this season will look a little different, more intentional, a bit slower, and rooted in balance. I want to be present for these years with my sons and create a life that feels sustainable, in every sense of the word.
Because of that, I’ll no longer be selling plants. As much as I love growing them, I just don’t have the capacity to care for them in a greenhouse while working full time, especially with the distance to the farm I’ve been using (45 mins one way). I’ll still be creating and sharing plant medicine, just in a way that I can truly sustain and enjoy.
I’m really looking forward to this next chapter. It feels grounded, honest, and full of possibility.
If you happen to know of an organic (or long-unsprayed) farm or large garden space near Wexford or Gibsonia, I’d love to connect.
These are the markets you can find me at this spring:
* 5/2 - I Made It Market Spring - The Block at Northway, 11-4
* 5/23 - Audubon EcoMarket - Beechwood Farms Nature Reserve, 10-4
* 6/13 - Mom Makers Market - Thriftique, 11-4
* 6/11 - 9/11 - The Farmer's Market at Pine Community Park (Thursdays), 4pm - 6:30pm
I truly hope to see you at these wonderful spaces and share in the joy of the growing season together.
There’s nothing I love more than being in community, talking plants, and soaking in that energy with you all.
Thank you for being here, for your patience, and for continuing to support this journey. It fills my heart!
