Mommy Guilt- Our new series of Live events! Join us for a deep dive into this issue!
One of the themes that continues to surface during my work is the concept of Mommy Guilt.
The feeling so many women about how “good or bad” they are as mothers, how conflicted they are about loving both children and work. How challenged women are when the topic about children and having a family surface at work.
I will be spending time discussing this topic in my social media. The spectrum of issue related to parenting and motherhood run from biases and stereotypes related to women who are or want to me mothers, as wells the perception of lack of ambition. This issue impacts the way many men and women define their professional career and future! It impacts the emotional wellbeing of many.
As I mention in my book:
“Companies that force women to be in this paradigm (mommy guilt) are being short-sighted in numerous respects. Most obviously, they will lose some of their best women. As I remind my corporate clients, women are not pregnant forever. A few months of leave, flex time and related benefits are small investments compared to losing committed employees and then spending time and money to hire and train replacements. Not having a family-friendly workplace also creates scheduling stress for men and women alike, which can hurt morale and productivity.”
Let me know what you think. This is a matter we can’t’ afford to Ignore!
