❕Please message us if you are interested. Read all information below: This little lady came to Rivers in need of emergency surgery. She was diagnosed with a pyometra (uterine infection). Her owners had too many cats and could not give her the care and time she needed. She recovered from surgery great! She has some special needs: she has FIV. This is the feline equivalent of aids. She can live a very long time with this disease, but at some point it will likely affect her. She has had one seizure. She was really stressed at the hospital and had a small seizure. We have NOT started her on any medications. She has not had another one in the last 3 -4 weeks. I cannot promise that she won’t have more in the future or will be affected by them. She is very shy. She will need some time to warm up to you. I am not sure how she is around other cats or dogs. She will probably to best in a calm environment. . #rescue #savinglives #veterinarian #itspartofthejob

Meredith arrived from St Thomas over a year and a half ago after living in the shelter for almost two years.
Meredith is a 4.5 year old female pittie/cattle dog mix weighing 39 pounds. Living in the shelter for so long has given her a little anxiety when meeting new dogs. This sweet girl is so happy to be able to do “zoomies” in a yard and play with toys. Meredith is spayed, fully vaccinated, microchipped and is being treated for heartworm in which the treatment is fully covered by Pet Search. We recommend older children over 8 years because her energy levels can be a little much for toddlers. She can be reactive to dogs and cats so a meet and greet is a must. She is housebroken and crate trained.
Meredith needed a chance for a better life outside of living in a shelter for more than half her life.

Brittany is a neighbor, friend, single mom, and veterinary nurse who survived attempted murder during a horrific and prolonged episode of domestic violence (along with her tiny rescue dog) at the hands of her ex, in spite of the fact that she was kind enough to not send him to a homeless shelter after they separated. She now has no car, must move to rehab for several weeks to months and give up her house, is facing more surgeries, and has tons of expenses and can no longer work for the foreseeable future since she cannot walk. Her daughter and her animals need her to be okay. We all do. 💗
