First week of Penland has been so great. Im always so blown away by how easy it is to find community here. You show up and plug right in to the studio, the people, the land. It’s magical.

This moth was my first friend i made Penland School of Craft ! Just got here to assist a class with Thomas Campbell in the Iron studio and will be here for two weeks.
As always, i stopped at Summersville Lake to camp and take a dip about half way.
& found a recreated native archaeological site and museum on the way and now im here!
A lil process for yaaaa: these rings were made in wax first and then transformed using customers’ gold, diamonds, and sapphires! I removed the stones from existing jewelry and we melted the gold down to cast these! The stones were repurposed in the new designs.
This was such an adorable experience where both of my clients came in to get custom engagement rings together. Usually its just one half of a partnership and i just have to imagine the scenario, but this time i got to see a tru beautiful moment between these two love birds 😭♥️😭 thanks Ian and Josie!!
