Today we took the ferry to our third Azorean island - Faial! We enjoyed spectacular island and harbor views, explored the dramatic volcanic landscapes of Capelo and Capelinhos, and learned the incredible story of the 1957-58 eruption that expanded the island itself. It was a picture-perfect, interesting day discovering the powerful forces that continue to shape the Azores.
