Records of the Pittsburgh St. Patrick’s Day parades go all the way back to 1869. Even though it’s commonly believed this parade happens ‘rain, snow or shine,’ there have been a few occasions when bad weather prevented the event from happening. The blizzard of 1993 — the worst snowstorm in 100 years — was NOT one of those canceled parades.

And that’s just one of the many reasons we love our city and the Irish!
