My name is Muki,
I'm from Kenya, Africa. I was born in Degahle, a very small
town. I was nine years old when I moved to the United
States. We moved to Pittsburgh to be with the family.
I became interested in photography in 2021 after my own
photo shoot. I was curious and asked a lot of questions
about photography. I love trying new things. I already had a
camera because I love tubes. I started taking pictures of my
brothers.
This passion grew and I realized that it could improve more
and more, so I kept photographing. I love photographing
people. People are very interesting with the photographs.
love the social aspect of taking photos. I like to ask them
questions and find out more about them. Knowing them
helps me to know who they are in these photos. I love
creating portraits that have bright colors, patterns and
textures.
My favorite place to do a photo shoot is the city center,
because it is beautiful with lights and movement.
Photography became my dream.

A Long this adventure I was motivated and inspired to to explore making this love of photography a business.

I asked the teachers questions about what they knew and their guidance pushed me further into making taking pictures a reality.

I also had very parents that believed in me. They helped by my camera that was essential in getting started.
