Turtle the Cat

It's been a few weeks since I was scooped up from the interstate. I'm happy, healthy, and a terror!

My new favorite activity is to harass the dogs (Doug and Gus). They're warm and cozy so I try to crawl and cuddle all over them. Gus is terrified of me and Doug can't stand my existence, but thanks to humans, these boys must tolerate my constant pestering.

Update on the Turd Bird (Turtle):

Xrays show the body is healing itself in a way we didn’t expect. The bone fragments are connecting themselves and calcifying. We have hopes that the healing will continue to be positive and he’ll have full use of that leg without amputation.

We will continue monitoring and have X-rays in a few weeks/months to ensure that it’s healing properly and won’t hinder his quality of life.

All money donated will be used to cover his medical bills so far. Any remaining money will be donated to the clinic in a fund to help a future animal in need.

It’s been almost a full week since Turtle was rescued. He is growing more and more each day! He loves to play and gets the Zoomies every morning and night. If we hadn’t see the hip jut out and the xray you’d never guess this little kitten is injured. He doesn’t let it stop him from living life to the fullest! We’ll be contacting the vet soon and will be setting an appointment for the amputation.

Hi! My name is Turtle 🐢! I am a very lucky, unlucky kitten who found himself bumped and bruised on I-90 Saturday during Memorial Weekend. This nice lady saw me and scooped me up and brought me home. They fed me some yummy food and snuggled with me while I slept.

I had a concerning limp so the nice lady and her friends took me to another place where they looked me over and scanned my body for any issues. Turns out my femur 🦴 was broken completely just below the head of the femur! The nice doctor lady said it would be best for a total leg amputation; however, I’m a little small yet. I’m hoping to gain a little weight so they can complete the surgery and I can get around a little easier.

The nice ladies are asking for donations to fund the surgery and give me a chance to live a long, healthy life!
