I locked two mortgages this week. Both files are solid, they are motivated borrowers, and I’m saving them tons of many with consolidating their debts. One family, over 3k a month, another single mom, over $600 per month. It feels good helping people afford their lives better. The coolest thing about being a mortgage banker, the lock fee. That guarantees you don’t get shopped.

Once the lock fee is collected, they don’t shop me with other mortgage lenders. 80% of Mortgages that I lock, close. If the don’t close, they don’t get their lock fee back. A nasty lady in Oklahoma FA’ed, and FO’ed we don’t do refunds when the loan can be closed and playing games is on the borrower’s menu.
