Let’s talk about a Sense of Self for a minute:
Sense of self is shaped by a combination of internal factors: one’s personality traits, cognitive abilities, and personal experiences; as well as external factors.
Through our many phases of life our experiences and what we encounter continues to shape our sense of self, growing (or diminishing) it as we move through life.
By incorporating objects, patterns, colors, and artwork (as a few examples) reminiscent of positive experiences, we can foster a greater sense of self in our home place.
Why is this important?
A strong sense of self is often associated with positive mental health and well-being. It allows us to have a clear understanding of our own identity, values, and goals, which in turn helps us make decisions, navigate relationships, and cope with challenges more effectively.
It plays a crucial role in shaping an our thoughts, emotions, behaviors, and overall sense of fulfillment and satisfaction in life.
Research shows that certain visual stimuli - the external factors- can have an impact on cognitive processes, and brain regions involved in self-perception and self-awareness.
So we’re paying attention to what this visual stimuli is, to enhance that sense of self!

Natural light does far more than light a space.
It touches us deep within evoking emotions and frequencies essential for our survival, happiness, and success.
Natural light also regulates our internal clock, sending cues for when to wake and when to sleep. Our internal clocks recognize the difference in morning blue light and sunsetting amber light.
So tell me- what kind of mood are you looking for?

Incorporating skylights and a sheen on the large painted wall for the light to bounce off and into the lower level center core of the home.
