🏔️ An Alaskan Adventure in Downtown Phoenix! 🏔️

​What an absolutely incrEDible First Friday! We spent our evening exploring the brand-new Molly of Denali: An Alaskan Adventure exhibit at the Heard Museum in Downtown Phoenix, and it is a total must-visit for families!

​From the second we arrived we were totally immersed in the culture, science, and daily life of Alaska. We explored the Tribal Hall, learned all about traditional Alaska Native Regalia and traditional drums, and even ran the counter at the Denali Trading Post!

​The hands-on activities are amazing. We strapped on snowshoes to tackle "The Most Amazing Maze Ever!", checked out the ice fishing shack, and learned about the salmon life cycle and traditional fish camps. I even got to test out a Polaris Indy 600 snowmobile, while Mickey and Emma took over the controls of a bush plane simulator! ✈️❄️

​The absolute highlight of our night was getting to meet and learn from Tlingit artist James Johnson. Hearing him speak about his heritage, seeing his magnificent woodcarving process up close, and understanding the deep history behind his craft was a truly powerful educational experience for all of us.

The amazing Mickey Munchies treated me to a Happy Hump Day Brekkie, and I’m still thinking about it. 🤩 Let's just say, she didn't chili-around on the flavor.

​That homemade red sauce? Absolutely guac-tastic! It had that slow-burn heat that makes you appreciate every bite. Of course, the Los Altos Queso y Crema y the Avocados from Mexico took it from ‘delish’ to ‘holy-mole!’
