Standing water in brand new shower
GC stopped by and I showed him the issue. (When I referred to "my contractor" in this post, I actually meant the builder who's here most of the time, not the GC who's the head guy and runs the business. Builder is the one who said the floors aren't level, etc. I guess he was just trying to ass-cover even though it wasn't even his work??) So this was the first time the GC actually saw it in person. He agreed it should not have standing water and said he would have the head tile guy check it out when he comes to plan out the upstairs tile, and tell us how they will remedy it. Hopefully this is not just kicking the can down the road and we will actually get it fixed. Fingers crossed! Really appreciate all of you who chimed in. :-)

Green tile reveal UPDATE #2
Well, world, this is where our journey ends. It was great having some anonymous hype (wo)men along for the ride. She's a lean, mean, emerald dream!
I love the green tile, and I'm also glad I don't have any more of it 😂 I've really enjoyed restoring some original charm and honoring our home.
ETA- I can confirm that we have hardwood under our carpet. The mantel is also a dark wood underneath the white. Unfortunately, those will have to stay for now.

Advice for this miter
Contractor has been stringing us along for over 3 months on our deck. I have posted about piers and post alignments with people stating there is hardware missing.
They have brought the hardware, but gave us the wrong board count and apparently cannot cut boards properly.
We are spending a lot of money on this deck. Would you accept this or make them redo it before the railing is up?
There are angles showing the remainder of the deck as well.
Thank you in advance!

Shower tile install need advice on job quality
To start, I paid the guys $7k labor to add a shower into my half bathroom. He did cut through foundation a little to connect plumbing to toilet. However we’re now at the most important part which is tiling the shower. I need advice on how the tiling quality is so far. After close inspection I feel like it’s subpar based on the uneven and jagged cuts especially on the right corner wall and around the niche. However I have no knowledge about this stuff so maybe after the grout is in it’ll look normal? Please see attached photos. Also my contractor said the corner walls will have grout in them that will mask after asking about uneven cuts. However after doing research online I’m hearing it should be color matched silicone caulk? I’m not sure he even polished and smoothed out the edges of the tile before installation. I saw them using a handheld blade to cut some of the tiles, whereas I’ve read online it should be a wet diamond blade saw. Anyways, we’re halfway done with tiling, can I get your guys honest opinions on quality and maybe recommendations of what to say for better install before he comes? Can the edges still be sanded and smoothed for better finish after grout? Thanks for your help!
