Say hello to Nadia! This pretty little girl and her kittens were rescued from an unsafe location. The kittens found a rescue but Nadia was deemed unadoptable and could not find placement. Since we had a little extra room in the cattery, I agreed to take her and she arrived here yesterday afternoon. Besides her finder, a few others have been involved with helping Nadia and they believe she might have pet potential. So far, she's been calm, though wary of me, ate all her food and using her box. After she's had an opportunity to acclimate to everything, I'll be assessing her and if it is determined she is adoptable at some point, I'll network her for a home. Otherwise, if she is happy in the cattery (as the others seem to be), she can make this her home.

Update on our new additions to the Sanctuary/Feral Cattery, BODEN in back) and BRONLEY (in forefront), who arrived last Thursday, June 4, afternoon. They are doing really well and will be released from the acclimation cage into the cattery with the other cats tomorrow. Although I don't consider either of these kitties feral, the cattery was the best place for them at this time -- very few other cats, most very calm, to adapt to and the only acclimation cage available. Bronley, the male, is not afraid of me at all, allows me to change the dishes in front of him, sniffs my finger, and even a few back pets. Boden, or Bodie as I've begun calling her, is very timid, watches me guardedly and moves away or jumps to lower level if I get too close. They love food and eagerly munch down at meal time. They're using the scratch post and litter box. They're both just really good cats and adorable. They had to be rescued primarily because Boden was too fearful to get adopted and she had bonded with Bronley. I believe they have potential to be good, loving pets if someone were willing to give Bodie time to come around. I'll see how they behave after coming out of the cage. Hopefully they wont hide and avoid me all the time like some, but at least they are safe, have an outdoor enclosure to enjoy, or a cooled indoor area if they prefer, toys, plenty of beds and food. They're as cute as can be and I love them. Will get better photos later.
