The Palm Tree and the Remnant by Contina

I do not stand in the temple. I stand beneath a tree. Not because I lack authority, but because I’ve learned that truth doesn’t always echo off stone—it roots in soil.

Like Deborah, I sit under my palm—not to be seen, but to see. To listen. To judge rightly. To call forth the trembling Baraks, those who have the sword but need the courage. And when they don't move, I prophesy still— not for credit, but because obedience is the real victory.

I am not the storm. I am the wind that calls it.

They tell me I don’t belong— too soft for the battlefield, too strange for the church pew. But I carry insight like a weapon, and compassion like armor.

I speak to the remnant—the ones who didn’t bow, didn’t break, who wander the margins carrying embers of truth in their ribs. They are my audience. Even if they never clap. Even if they are still scattered. My calling is not to gather the many— but to ignite the few.

So I stay here, under this palm tree. Not forgotten. Just rooted.

Because legacy doesn’t bloom in the spotlight— it grows in the hush, where the faithful weep and still choose to believe.

And I—we—are the remnant whose time is coming.
