Though, there should never be an election referred to as “off-year,” never has there been a “low profile” election with more consequences facing Pennsylvania voters as this fall’s. The country is watching.
Pennsylvania is one of eight states that elect judges and then gets the opportunity to fire them 10 years later, known as YES/NO retention elections. Democrats hold a 5-2 advantage on the state Supreme Court, but three Democratic justices, Christine Donohue, Kevin Dougherty and David Wecht are up for retention, as is Alice Dubow Beck for Superior Court and Michael Wojcik for Commonwealth Court, also statewide offices...Jeffrey Yass, the richest man in Pennsylvania and other Republican organizations are investing financially, spreading misinformation and urging a No vote on the Supreme Court justices.

Repost: A suburban Philadelphia group, IK Start USA, has invested in the Norwegian professional soccer program, IK Start, in Kristiansand, Norway, that was in financial crisis. The Start men, which began play in 1905, are in second place in the second tier of Norwegian soccer, looking to get promoted to Eliteserien. The women, in their third of year of play, are in 8th place in 1st Division after being promoted the last two seasons from the 3rd and 2nd Divisions. The investors do not only want to restore Start to prominence in Norway, but build up a fanbase in the United States. One of the favorite international track and field meets of the Diamond League summer season is the Bislett Games in Oslo. Once again, records were set, including Norway's 22-year old Jakob Ingebritsen setting the European record in the 1,500m, some calling the race "one for the ages." This year's Bislett Games are being hailed as the best ever.
