Happy Halloween!

It’s been a while but I’m back with a post I’m calling “Legs for DAYS”!

This petite set of wood inlaid nesting tables is exquisite. Not sure if they are mahoganny or rosewood but who cares because they are so cute (and compact!) Apart from a few minor repairs all they needed was a reBOOt (sorry but Halloween is my jam!)

The tops were sanded to reveal beautiful wood grain and intricate striped banding and marquetry medallions. The dainty bamboo inspired legs (all 12 of them!) were painted in typewriter to complitment the black details in the top’s banding which I’ve never seen before in that angled pattern or black color. I mixed the milkpaint a little on the thinner side so some of the wood’s original mahogany tones would show through. I distressed a few areas and then sealed the bases in h**p oil. Tops were poly’d in satin finish.

I just love the way they turned out and they are already off to their new forever home!

Happy Haunting! 🕷

I am proud of a lot of the pieces that I do. Mostly saving ones that were destined for the landfill. This 1930’s Art Deco waterfall vanity was never ending up there but started out as merely a custom paint job. When we revelaed the beautiful chevron tiger striped banded walnut veneer it went from a refresh to a massive undertaking and labor of love. I’m so happy my clients chose to restore this beauty. Lots of hours in a ventilator on this one but SO worth it. It’s stunning!
