Choice Good Or Bad...
The whole world is now effected by COVID-19 and with over a million cases that has us all imprisoned globally the apex is still not in effect. But life still continues to have it's own chain of events that enters every household all over.
With that said how are we dealing with these life changing situations that can come in many forms. For example with this city specifically shut down for business we are forced to be secluded basically with family members. Siblings have to come in contact with each other more, and husbands and wives are dealing with each others habits and behaviors. This in itself can be either good or bad determining on how these matters are perceived.
So let me come to my point. Think of the worst case scenario that you can possibly imagine and consider it happening to you right now. First and foremost know that we as humans are typically looking of more ways to satisfy our wants, needs and desires. And from this equation we sometimes do selfish things that only provide satisfaction to just us. But we must understand that or choices whether done in the open or hidden in secrecy will ultimately effect everyone we are connected to.
Whether these events or good or bad the choice to how we respond to these complications can definitely measure your joy or your sadness. We can't control what life throws at us regardless if its initiated by someone we love, or planted it the air by a virus. We can only control how we respond and how we let these events overwhelm our thought patterns.
Words...
On the back of my business cards I wrote the statement..."There is nothing more empowering than the written or spoken word that encourages your mind." Now I didn't create that phrase because it sounded catchy or even to state my knowledge as an author. I wrote it because it is so very true, because the words that are expressed in any of the 6,500 languages around the world all have a meaning. Because a word with no meaning is merely an uttered sound.
We use words not only for speech in communication with one another, but we use words to describe thoughts, feelings and objects. Words are the major source of learning from the moment a child's mind adapt to the words around them, to the last word spoken on your very last breath of life. Words that form language is more that naming and describing things they are the life blood of every culture of the human race of people.
We use words to express the beauty of life and to share the pleasures of experiences that connects with each of us. We speak of enjoyments, laughter, devotion, commitment, helping, caring and every euphoric matters of the heart. We also use words to speak deception, lies, betrayal, disrespect, hatred, obscene expressions and the core of most prisons and cemetaries hatred. We measure each other from not what is done, but what is spoken and remembered. We often use words for personal gain rather than growing with each other. And in some self absorbed selfish way certain people care very little of the negative impact they may impose on someone by being dishonest and speaking false statements.
As a writer a pride myself on the use of words, but I too am only human and when angered I am tempted to lash out with hurtful and thoughtless expressions. But I recall my dear mother saying to me when I was a small child..."If you can't say anything nice, don't say anything at all." If only we as a race of people could incorporate that phrase into our day just imagine what the world we live in would be. Remember do unto others as you would like done unto you. Starting with the way we use words.
