“In October 2020, Holy Spirit told me to create fourteen looks for Halloween and to share them on TikTok. FOURTEEN LOOKS?? That was my response because I didn’t know anything about creating elaborate looks. I didn’t know anything about makeup painting. I definitely didn’t know how to draw. I leaned into God and just went for it. Every day for fourteen days, I sat at my vanity, pulled up inspiration for the look I was creating, and I began to draw on my face. There were no practice sessions, there weren’t any stencils. It was just me, my products, and God. Each day, I shared my creation and each day I sat in awe of the finished product. This wasn’t something I learned; it was something I was born with. In that moment I shifted. I stopped questioning why would people want to watch me create looks and began to walk in my gift. In the midst of me creating, moms began showing their littles my videos and pictures. Those same littles began playing in makeup trying to recreate what they saw me do. They began asking their moms to make sure they showed me what they had done. I realized my makeup was a ministry and The Beauty Within was born. I wanted girls and women to tap into the beauty that rests on the inside of them and walk in it unapologetically. I wanted them to know that makeup was art, that it was fun, and mistakes weren’t permanent, “just put some makeup on it.” Just like you can start over when you make a makeup mistake, you can start over when you make a life mistake. Through The Beauty Within, Minis and Makeup manifested. I started holding virtual classes for littles and we spent evenings creating different looks and talking about their beauty and what it meant. It wasn’t what I planned but what God planned.”@
