I just talked to our team at Disability Equality in Education about our meeting next week with advocates around the USA and then around the globe on how we can come together to bring disability conversations into mainstream conversations from kindergarten to high school.
I told them about my experience and about how I came into the movement and how a few chance meetings and people changed my whole life trajectory mostly without them even knowing it.
I always feel a sense of excitement in these kinds of things, of finding people like myself who maybe transformed. If I am in a group of say 20 if one person goes on and gets it and does things that is a plus.

Every so often I ban Trump supporters from my face book because I am tired of their ads and comments. So I am mostly Trump free as most of my friends are. The problem is by doing this I can’t find a middle ground for reasonable respectful debate and truth. It’s hard to reach across the aisle without information that is both unbiased and selective. We cannot respond to the lies and rhetoric with our rhetoric and lies. Our government and the way it operates is so beyond our understanding it is no wonder many feel powerless.
The election system in the USA was bought and paid for by the rich generations ago our policies rotate between benevolence and economic austerity all mixed up secondarily with issues that should not be the concern of politicians or judges like abortion and women’s rights women should have the right to choose period.
Trump has seized on the weakness of our democracy to create a democracy for the rich and powerful. He is but a stalking horse for things to come. A total destruction of your say if you ever believed it and a pathway for the rich who need not money but desire power, they ma******te on it.
Sadly I think this is unstoppable as Trump and successful people in the capitalist system teach how to do it.
People who want to not just comment on Trump need to focus locally and hold their dog catcher up accountable and local and state reps and senators. This would eventually be easier as it is within their community and in reach.
These are individual donations to democracy, collectively we need to build a national coalition of non violent civil disobedience which defends everything all Americans think their country is, like what is an American because that is what is under attack here, your self worth and pride as an American.
Never has your identity as an American been attacked and manipulated this way both at home and abroad. Rather than being the leader of the free world you are becoming a slum landlord investor who wants to screw you out of your real estate.
I truly believe that there are republicans in our communities in our state and in our congress and senate that we can discuss America, I hope so or we are lost completely. We don’t have to agree but agree to frank discussions. This would be a start.
We immigrants and settlers destroyed many cultures when we invaded and took land and livelihood on behalf of Kings. Do you really want to repeat that history?!

I am going to be ADAPT this year to save Medicaid and I suggest that you fund ADAPT because they saved it last time Trump was president in 2017.
Don’t write nice slogans time to get on the streets and peacefully demonstrate or at least fund them. Let’s hear from ordinary folks what they feel about what’s happening uninterrupted by political spin.
America or at least the idea of America is about to die or at best is under attack. This land is your land not Trumps!

My neighbor is voting for Trump.
We have Trump signs next door with my neighbor and friends. We live in Bensalem a Philadelphia suburb so one of the swingerists districts of the swingerist States in the forthcoming of the election of the next president.
I was a volunteer in 2016 driving disabled democrat voters to register their vote and met a trump mob at the polling station. The people who wanted to vote democrat had to roll past a gauntlet of Trump supporters and it feels very much like the same again. It was intimidating.
Thank god for the postal vote as our house will not have to run the gauntlet but I will be there to take pictures. I would not like my family to be targeted or a Jan 6th action in my community led by my neighbors.
Of course if I have to keep my family safe from my neighbors is to vote Trump…or else because if he loses resentment, violence, vandalism could break out from neighbors who from the neighborhood losers.
My wife who is in home in hospice care is worried that the end of her life her and my Daughter maybe a victim of neighborhood violence if he does not win.
Bensalem is a nice place to live divided by a criminal, racist, sexist running for president and poisoning our politics to hatred and away from understanding. He hates women he hates immigrants and their families and the wannabee citizens.
I can remember when I moved here in 2004 politicians were respectful and the US was in some way working it out and towards a more inclusive society.
I have to blame reality television a little for creating Trump or should I say unreality television. But our lives do not exist on tv shows nor do sensible political policies that help us.
The President appoints the heads of all departments like Health and human services and the Department of Education as well as supreme court judges which overturned the women’s right to choose. During the last Trump administration my wife with other disabled people organized by ADAPT camped out for a month on the streets of DC to stop him destroying what he called Obama care reducing health care costs for all. It’s the affordable care act which is if he wins will go now we don’t have John Mc Cain to put his thumb down.
Democracy in the US is a fundraising fest where Billionaires, Millionaires ask working people for money to pay for TV adds and their campaigns. There is no restriction or censorship or indeed truth contained in what a friend of Trump or Harris can say in their adds.
My biggest concern as a student of history and particularly the origins of the 2nd world war that my father fought in is the similarity between Trump and Hi**er in the 19020’s and 1930’s and how the N***s took over democracy in Germany.
January 6th feels like the 1926 beer garden push in Munich where Hi**er went to jail but let out far too early. The rhetoric of Trump targets a group he calls undesirables/ illegal’s just like Hi**er explained the Jewish problem in Germany and we know what happened next.
Once in power they restricted people’s power to vote like abolishing postal votes so thugs could intimidate people at polling stations like I observed in 2016.
Truly and maybe I am simple but I don’t Think trump wants world domination or territory like Hi**er but I seriously think he wants to turn what is left of American democracy into an autocracy.
My only hope is that he is an old racist womanizing rich git who failed in business who cannot live forever. But I am worried about what he spawns.
Trump has dominated the Republican party for 8 years and I hope if he loses we can get back to a republican party that is honest, respectful and whose agenda is not to destroy our democracy and the perfect union we are all working towards.
