Philadelphia’s drop in gun violence isn’t tied to one solution, but research shows that environmental improvements like brighter streetlights, cleaned-up vacant lots, and community gardens can significantly reduce shootings while strengthening neighborhood connections. Just as important as the physical changes, residents say these efforts build trust, pride, and relationships that help make communities safer.

The Office of Sustainability is seeking 18 community-based organizations to receive $10,000 grants to serve as Climate Resilience Partners. Philadelphia is especially vulnerable to climate impacts. We are seeking community-level partners to help gather resident feedback and shape neighborhood-level strategies that will support an update to the City’s Climate Resilience Plan.

Each organization that applies will nominate a Partner Ambassador. This individual will serve as the main participant and point of contact for a 10-month Climate Resilience Partner Program.

Help shape how our city prepares for hotter summers, stronger storms, and increased flooding.
