It was a bittersweet day at Holy Name School in Camden. The K-8 Catholic school closed its doors for good after nearly a century of serving the community. Students, staff and alumni honored the school’s legacy by opening a time capsule during the final assembly.

The U.S. Coast Guard is stepping up patrols of the Delaware River ahead of the FIFA World Cup. Six matches will be played at Lincoln Financial Field, which is just a mile away from the river. Crews will use flashing blue lights to stop boaters for safety inspections, investigate suspected impaired operators and keep vessels out of restricted areas.
Coast Guard Sector Delaware Bay and Station Philadelphia are actively working to ensure the safety and security during the six FIFA World Cup matches in Philadelphia.

It’s been one year since the passage of Paul Miller’s Law, which bans Pennsylvanians from holding or using their phones while driving. Now the warning period is over and violators will be facing $50 fines starting tomorrow.
