RIDE Peekskill

The is back, and with it, so is RIDE! After COVID-19 put things on pause, the Peekskill DRI Local Planning Committee will be meeting (virtually) for the last time on August 12 at 7pm. At this meeting they'll be deciding what proposals go to NY State, and we're hoping RIDE! makes the cut. We need your help to spread the word and show your support for our initiative.

We think the COVID-19 crisis has proven the value of the technology layer of civic infrastructure and the value of alternative mobility options. We've seen how valuable technology has been during this crisis -- those who had a tech layer were able to pivot quickly and adapt to the new normal. Those who didn't have that tech layer in place struggled more.

On the mobility side there's been an explosion in cycling as lockdown has limited recreation and exercise options, and cycling provided the perfect healthy escape. Our partners at have seen the increase in demand first hand.

We also witnessed how those without mobility options suffered during the crisis and as local grocery stores shut down those who didn't own cars found that their only options to get fresh groceries were to risk social distancing by crowding onto local buses or try to navigate the local taxi system that lacked a technology layer, leaving people feeling stranded.

Tech and mobility on a hyper local level. That's our proposal. It's recreational, it's functional, it's healthy, it's flexible and adaptable. Join us, , and make this RIDE! a reality.
