I have been meeting pastors in the East Bay region for the past six months. I have now had coffee with 28 pastors. I love our churches and pastors in the East Bay area.

Tomorrow we are all coming together for a combined church prayer breakfast. Many churches and pastors will be there.

The mayor will be there and giving a keynote speech and praying for our area!!!!

But there is a back story...

When I moved here, I drove to see the original house owned by the first landowner, built-in 1856. Three weeks after finishing this house, while awaiting his wife and children to join him, he was murdered.

As I stood across the field and looked at this house, compassion and emotion welled inside me, and I had a spiritual encounter with God.

Although the East Bay area is one of the most beautiful, it is also one of the areas with the fewest churches per capita in all of California. I looked through the history of churches in this area. I noticed that just as they seemed to be going very well, something rose up and canceled them out. So this grow, decline, grow, decline pattern has been observed by many churches.

God spoke to me as I looked at the John Marsh house. He said a murderous spirit is canceling ministries in this area. Something rose up in me, and I started talking to the pastors about it, and this prayer meeting is the result.

Tomorrow we will ask God for forgiveness for the past, cancel the murderous spirit over this area, and declare a new season of blessing over the area of Brentwood. May its inner beauty match its outer beauty.

Things are going to change in the spiritual atmosphere tomorrow.
