Don’t forget, this upcoming Tuesday March 17th is the Primary Election Day. Below is a link for the polling places in Edgar County. Early voting begins today Saturday March 14th at the Courthouse in Paris until noon. We greatly appreciate all the help and support we have received so far and we ask for your continued support and your vote on Tuesday.

To Edgar County Residents:

Over the past several years, I have come to know Doug Cochran through multiple training events. As an instructor, I have been impressed with the effort and dedication Doug has demonstrated in his continuing education—especially when you consider that he had to take time away from his regular job to attend these events. The extent and scope of the courses Doug has completed exceed the norm for most officers. The quality of his performance during these courses has also been top-notch.

His commitment to expanding his knowledge base is exemplary. For example, last fall Doug attended a three-day Command, Control, and Leadership course presented by an internationally renowned trainer. This course involved extensive problem-solving and preparation exercises based on real-world crisis events.

Doug took the initiative to complete and graduate from this course. Although the class was underwritten and offered at no cost to local officers, it is noteworthy that the other candidates in this race chose not to attend.

What does this mean to the residents of Edgar County? Simply put, it means a candidate who brings a comprehensive training foundation, real-world patrol experience, and the perspective of someone who has successfully operated a business. That combination translates to reduced liability exposure for the department, proactive problem-solving before issues escalate, and ultimately, less taxpayer money spent on lawsuits and settlements.
