On this, the 12 year anniversary of SALT SURF, I’m checking in to say hi. You may have noticed the silence for a while now. Just like the ocean and everything in nature, there are ebbs and flows. Seasons. Currently SALT SURF is in an ebb. It’s time for a break and some realignment.

The brand has always operated as more of an art project than a business. Making un-strategic moves, waiting for intuition and inspiration, allowing timing to dictate decisions rather than forcing what is not meant to be. So, i’m currently embracing the pause and this moment to reflect on what is next.

But rest assured, if you’d like to make any purchases, the online store is still up and running!

Personally, as of late i’ve been inspired as a photographer. I’ve felt a stronger pull to create images and i’m excited to continue sharing my upcoming work and connecting with you all in this way… and perhaps even working together! So please follow along

We're small. The very first SALT SURF customers came to shop for surfboards out of our Brooklyn apartment. It was kinda cute, but also kind of embarrassing. I remember I had gone out the night before and had barely slept and here we were with a stranger in our apartment who was expecting a legitimate shop, and kind of surprised to be standing there with me in my pajamas. A lot has changed since then, 11 years ago. But, SALT SURF has done its best to retain its core values of staying small, trying to create an inclusive space in the surf world and making quality goods. Oh yeah and always being NICE AND COOL.

We're still, for the most part, a one man show. We don't really follow seasons and only really make stuff when we're excited about it. We still manufacture everything in the US. And we still try and surf more than we work (we believe in a bad work ethic).

So, thank you for supporting this journey and thanks for allowing us to run our business in a non-businessy way for the past 11 years. Excited for the next weird and exciting 11 years to come :)
