The Disney Destiny is the newest Wish class ship and it’s set to make its inaugural sailing on November 20, 2025 porting out of my hometown of Fort Lauderdale Florida
This ship is near and dear to my heart already, thanks to its unique heroes and villains theming
Disney Cruises offer unique rotational dining experiences, in which your server follows you to a new restaurant each night. Each ship has 3 rotational dining restaurants, and the Destiny has some exceptional offerings:
- Pride Lands Feast of the Lion King
- Worlds of Marvel
- 1923
Palo’s Steakhouse and Enchanté will be the adult only offerings that you may add on for an additional cost.
Some additional bar, lounge, and cafe offerings with unique theming will include:
- Megara (a cafe inspired by Meg from Hercules)
- The Haunted Mansion Parlor (inspired by the popular ride, this bar will offer somee happy haunts for you to indulge in while at sea)
- Cask & Canyon (a pirates of the Caribbean themed lounge that is sure to have you singing yo-ho, yo-ho!)
- De Vil’s (a Cruella inspired piano bar)
- The Sanctum (a Dr. Strange inspired lounge)
Now I need to know 👀 which are you most looking forward to experiencing?!? Mine will be in the comments 💫
As always, you can text me to start planning your next Disney vacation: 850-384-9499

Monsters Unchained FAQs Addressed:
Many people have noted the similarities of the ride structures between Monsters Unchained & Forbidden Journey. Also, as a mom myself who frequently utilizes child swap, it’s so helpful to know what to expect from the queues (especially when we need to address the monsters in the room 🤪)
- On Forbidden Journey you have a brief period of being in a reclined position. On Monsters Unchained, you spend a longer percentage of time in that ride in that position due to many instances of that lean-back motion.
- This ride isn’t as “screen heavy,” as Forbidden Journey. That’s not to say it doesn’t use screen technology, but it’s more to enhance the animatronics. Some may find this a relief for motion sickness if they found this was an issue on FJ.
- While the seats are exactly the same as the Forbidden Journey ride it is worth noting that there’s a distinction between them. In FJ you are suspended from above on a pulley of sorts. In MU you are actually elevated on a mototronic robotic system of sorts, playing off the Frankenstein aspect of the ride.
- There are a couple of pre-show rooms. Some children may find the theming to be spooky, but there are no jump scares.
- While the team members throughout the Monsters Universe may be less than chipper (immersive theming, not a lack of zeal for the job lol), I was so pleased with how they interacted with kids as we passed through the queue. We had more than one spookily clad TM tell my middle child there was nothing to be afraid of. No one is going to intentionally scare your child, even if the theming is spooky
- The pre-shows had closed captioning, which I thought was a great move for general accessibility
- For my adult scaredy-cats, I wouldn’t consider the ride itself to be a “jump scare,” ride. There was nothing we were scared by that I couldn’t quite literally see coming. It wasn’t a major thriller, but was still a very unique ride.
