This might have been my favorite moment Night 1. Until they lost! Paige has the history but Nia and Lash are here to stay and deserve their moment soon

I've been following these match times. And I think we are framing these wrong. I agree the matches are too short too often. But entrances are part of the match. nobody skips them like a commercial and they are a very important part of wrestling and the characters. This would easily add 5 or 10min to each match/entertainment segment. I'd like to see those real numbers and then I'm not sure there's as much of an issue as people say. I don't want any commercials for the record but maybe we need to be real about what the entertainment time is and not just the match

WrestleMania 42 Night 2 match length times:

• Brock vs. Oba - 4m 46s
• Ladder Match - 15 minutes
• Sami vs. Trick - 9 minutes
• Demon vs. Dom - 13 minutes
• Jade Cargill vs. Rhea Ripley - 10 minutes
• Roman vs. Punk - 34 minutes

Total match length around: 1h 25m 46s
Remaining around (out of 3:30 hours): 2h 04m ā³

Great match, but 3 min!? Then Brock retires. Wow, special moment. I was pumped for the Oba win but grateful to Lesnar for all he did for the business. Wish we could have seen a full battle but it got the event going in a big way. I'll have more in this later. Lots to remember and process!

Let's keep being better than night 1!

Oba Femi defeats Brock Lesnar!

Oba started the match off strong by dominating Brock, but shortly in Lesnar was able to get the advantage and hit a few German suplexes on Oba before hitting the F5. Oba got up after the F5 and hit Brock with a massive choke slam followed by the fall from grace for the pinfall victory.

Wasn't a long match, but the right call. Excited to see what's next for Oba after this massive win.

This is the sad state of WWE. Bad news is it's all about the stock price now. Earnings over value.

Seth always bring his A game! Why didn't Cody come out heel? They looked like they were retiring the American Nightmare then he came out as it. The crowd hates him right now and he's more over as a heel anyway. Event the match seemed like a heel turn. Then he didn't. So weird

One of the coldest WrestleMania visuals EVER.

Aura unmatched. Presence untouchable.

Paige's return was closer to a B+ for me as a guy that's seen her whole career. But the overall show grade is accurate. Wildly unfulfilling. Luckily I started it late and could skip the commercials. But damn WWE has completely sold out value for dollars

Facts. Terrible writing last night. Over commercialization. When the entire IWC is left guessing and feeling unfulfilled, creative blew it

Consumers cheated again. Give us all the content! Lol

So... I hear that the Netflix Hulk Hogan documentary will consist of four one hour episodes. ONLY FOUR HOURS LONG?!?!?! I feel so cheated. Netflix bragged about having 20 hours worth of interviews with Hulk Hogan which he gave shortly before his passing. Then you add in all of the interviews you could have with others about him and of course countless amounts of classic footage of his matches, his cartoon show, his movies, his music, his beer etc. This should have been an entire series that lasted a couple of seasons. You could have done a 4 hour documentary on Hulk Hogan without any new interviews. Netflix had an extraordinary opportunity and it seems as though they decided to go the cheap route. Shame on them for doing so. 😔 I'm still going to watch it, but 🤬... I feel cheated.

WrestleMania Night 1 has been heavily criticized, but is the criticism warranted?

Night 1 felt flat. But why is that? On paper the card looked great. The matches were decent. The crowd was into it. It was everything one would expect from WWE's biggest PLE of the year. The problem?

Fan expectations and the over commercialization of wrestling.

What we saw last night was typical WWE. The usual pomp and circumstance.... With added commercials at every turn. Commercials mean less wrestling, in a company that doesn't really care about wrestling. And in this format of commercials and showcasing a star-studded event, you have to have a match in your product that everyone will be talking about the next day. This time? They didn't have that.

Think about the RAW on Netflix debut.

That show was had very little wrestling on it. What does everyone remember? Seth v Punk. That match was good enough to get people to forget most of that show was interviews and showing celebs in the crowd.

Night 2 will definitely follow the script of Night 1 commercialization. And if they don't have a match that sticks with people - wrestling - then you'll hear the same complaints on Monday.

At some point, wrestling has to have its time. Like Punk said...

It doesn't say "cinema" in the event name.

Great match but where the friggin story!? They literally just faxed it randomly for a few weeks. Oh Seth fed Brock Oba!? No, they forced another random match and even though this will be awesome. The laziness is repulsive

Get celebrities out of Wrestling!

HOT UNPOPULAR TAKE
It seems like Kross knew everything wrong within the brass from the start
Now that truth's starting to come out, it makes sense why they drive away all the wrestlers with, quote, unquote, more personality
Because they want yessmen and celebs.

This.

Who thinks Pat helps WWE. Yes he's famous, so!? The worst part of WWE has always been the celebrities. The true stars are guys like Seth and Gunther who were made by WWE

Pat McAfee has responded to the visceral reaction he’s gotten.

ā€œThese IWC dipsh*ts have no idea, this is for the good of them. They have no idea what they’ve been missing, they have no idea what it’s supposed to look like…now we changing. The IWC are not the biggest fans of what happened, they’re pretty upset about it. But they are a part of the problem, they are the ones that said ā€˜yeah this is what it’s supposed to be all this stuff,’ it’s like nah let us show you what it’s supposed to be. It’s a very important pivotal moment in the history of the business.ā€

Fine speech - nah I’m kidding. I’m also aware he’s most likely in character, and I’m responding because it’s apart of a larger problem of wrestlers vs. fans. But I’m not going to pull a John Cena and go scorched earth. I did that already. I’m simply going to just defend my opinions, and those who didn’t like it, without name calling.

It’s not an IWC hates everything problem. Once again, I feel like the community ultimately isn’t AS fed up as like let’s say 2010, 2017-19, Thunderdome etc. But they’re not mad just because they’re the IWC. They’re mad because simply put - it’s Pat McAfee.

Not The Rock, not a missed wrestler, a commentator. A commentator who, I feel doesn’t really add much anymore like he used to. Not mention, it’s WWE trying to force Orton really hard as a heel when the crowds love him too much to boo him. That’s why it’s annoying a lot of people.

Not every surprise is a good surprise. And a GOOD surprise would be if it was someone the fans have truly missed or a more logical choice. It’s not fans vs. wrestlers. It’s fans wanting better writing, period. And they are more than allowed to not like it and can say whatever they want. Period, period.
