I’ve been wanting to make wings for my little buggies, so I finally made a prototype using the same flexible garden plant tie wire I use for their arms. I wrap the wire in fabric and use scraps of interfacing and batting to give it shape and softness. For the wings, I chose tulle from a rainbow tutu I made years ago but never wore. It makes me happy to give those colorful layers a second chance in a new creation.
I haven’t attached these wings yet….they’re actually meant for a more locust-like buggy. This was just the perfect little model to test the design before adding them to their final home.

Turning trash into treasure ♻️✨
In my craft room , I give new life to items headed for the landfill. With the help of my sewing machine and lots of glue I transform fabric scraps into one-of-a-kind art pieces with a story to tell. Sustainable, creative, and made with purpose.
I’ve finally perfected the upcycled beetle pattern and I will be creating more to bring to markets. I also finished my first Kinusaiga project and then went after it with glue and glitter (typical)! ❤️❤️❤️
