We’re adding more art to our collection for purchase here at Test Patch Studio. It’s been an artful couple of weeks!

As you may already know, we have gorgeous framed high-quality Giclée reproductions of original paintings created by my mother Lisa Baack.

This week, I’m going to share photos of a few new pieces we just got in. They’re inspired by the Pacific Northwest.

These are nice, large size reproductions. For example, the salmon is 32” x 47”. The double cloud paintings are currently hanging outside the studio on the walls here at The Tumwater Craft District.

If you haven’t already heard me talk about her — Lisa, was a prolific abstract painter whose work spanned over 50 years, creating vibrant acrylic paintings on large canvas and mixed media. She and I collaborated many times for Test Patch Studio. You may have seen some of her original paintings on the walls here.

In honor of Lisa, 20% of proceeds from these reproductions benefit The Lisa Baack Memorial Woman Artist Scholarship Fund, supporting women artists of all ages with materials, studio space, education, travel, and more.

June is the perfect month to feature this giant rainbow painting in acrylic on canvas. It was created in 1975 by my mom, Lisa Baack. I remember her painting it in her home studio when I was just 8 years old.

To me, it feels like joy. The colors are vibrant, deep and rich, and blended just so, you can see the rain and the sun to make this rainbow. You’ve got to come see it in person. It’s stunning. It’s huge! It’s over 9 feet wide and 6 feet tall.

It’s a pleasure to share this piece of art with the public rather than have it rest in storage.

Unfortunately, my mother passed away late 2023. Although she didn’t know I would be hanging her art inside the Test Patch Studio shop, she knew the storefront was coming as we had been collaborating on some of the art for Test Patch Studio for the last 7 years.

The last photo in the carousel is me at 8 years old, my brother at 10, and my mom at her art opening in front of the rainbow. Check out my socks with sandals. Gotta love it!

Local flower growing season is here!

I took a drive out to Five Hearts Farm in East Olympia this morning to pick up a bin of farm fresh flowers. Our flower stand outside the studio door is in full operation!

The flowers are freshly picked at the farm and we assemble them in easy grab and go arrangements right in the studio. It’s a pleasure to work with Five Hearts Farm. They grow scrumptious seasonal flowers, and veggies too.

These flower arrangements will be up on our stand all summer long with a self serve “flowers after hours” option to purchase via Venmo or PayPal when the shop is closed.

They’re a nice grab and go gift for yourself or a friend.
