Many of you have been wondering why the Track has closed down. So here we go..first and foremost we would like to say we greatly appreciate the opportunity givin to us to promote this racetrack. That being said, Rob and the rest us (Wilson Family) poured our hearts into this facility. Sacrificed many many nights and weekends here. Working full time jobs, and also spending roughly 30 hours or more a week after those working hours at the track. Robbie Wilson had a dream come true when he got asked to be the new promoter. He loves the sport more than I think anything in this world. He eats, sleeps, and breathes dirt racing. Hereditarily it’s in his blood. The rest of us love it as well. That’s why we agreed to help in any way possible. We faced many challenges taking this on. Starting with a name change and racing moved to Friday nights. one of the biggest reasons of why this track is being closed is equipment failure. Every single time we went to work on the track something broke. Saturday July 23rd, all three tractors (water tractors/sheeps foot) broke down beyond an overnight repair. It would cost thousands of dollars for the repairs needed to get equipment into “decent” shape. Bleachers, wall, fence…all needs repairs. The economy has put a real hurt on everything right now as well. With fuel prices and material prices…it’s hard to maintain a track. Car counts are low and fan counts are low. (Not just at this track.) dirt racing has taken a huge hit this year. Finding help was very challenging as well. We GREATLY appreciate all the help we had. It’s hard finding people to give up there weekend time consistently. To squash another rumor, none of this had anything to do with the social media bashing. While it doesn’t help at all, it’s just part of it. You will never please everyone. We want to thank you all for the support as we had a lot of people rooting for us. We tried like hell. Rob and Angie along with the rest of us, tried so hard. We took alot of punches to the chin. At some point, it’s just beyond your control. We will keep everyone posted about the banquet. You all deserve that and we will deliver that. It truly was a pleasure to have promoted a very sentimental hometown track. This has been extremely tough to swallow. Money, equipment, and the maintenance required to the facility were just the three main causes of the closure. Thank you all, we wish all you drivers the best of luck with the rest of your season. Also, to all the great sponsors who helped support us, THANK YOU. Without you we wouldn’t have had a track in the first place. Sponsorship is everything. For the last time….
