Today Governor Dan McKee signed "Casey's Law," codifying enhanced penalties for road rage incidents. Casey Bassignani was killed in a road road range incident on November 26, 2025 and was the daughter of Capt. David Bassignani and the sister of Trooper Jake Bassignani. We want to thank Senator David Tikoian and Representative Arthur Corvese for being the prime sponsors of Casey's Law and Governor McKee for his support throughout the process.

Recently, Troopers enjoyed giving a tour of the RISP Headquarters, E911 Call Center, and RISP Museum to students from the Chariho Criminal Justice Program. The tour also included a lesson with K9 Birdie and detectives from our Computer Crimes Unit about Internet safety. They also learned about the importance of making good decisions behind the wheel with a demonstration of the impaired driving goggles.
