Evening. I wanted to add a FAQ about this video transfer service.

Are you local to Oregon?

Yes I'm local, home based in Newbeg Oregon :)

Can you transfer my old VHS Tape?

Yes, we can transfer many video tape formats including, but not limited to.
VHS, SVHS, VHS-C, SVHS-C, 8mm, Hi8, & Digital8

What are your costs?

Approx $15 a tape depending on format, and tape condition.

I use many methods for recovery and clean I can clean up old dirty, and sometimes even moldy tapes.

Pictured below are a few higher end SVHS deck I use to get the best picture playback possible.

We were able to source not only a VHSC camcorder, but even better a adapter cassette that can be used for both VHS-C and SVHS-C tapes.
Adding to the formats we can transfer to DVD and MP4 files!

I call it the "Camcorder Line Up" including my original beloved Sony Hi8 on the far left.
A couple Hi8 spares, the Digital 8 I use for projects and a VHSC unit I found recently, more on that in a later post

Before moving onto my next project, a look back at the last big one!

Last winter I finally moved my personal archive to digital.
51 Hi8 tapes transfered to 102 DVDRs.
I used a Sony Digital 8 camcorder as a playback device sourced in my thrifting.
This model has a built in TBC and DNR to help the picture quality.
I recorded on a stand alone DVD recorder at highest picture quality setting.

With these DVD backups I can put them in my computer and create any size MP4 files needed for digital storage and uploading.

A very important part of this business is sourcing equipment as simply put, they just don't make these anymore.
Found another Hi8 Camcorder at Habitat for Humanity I've been testing out.
These work great for playback and are much cheaper then stand alone Hi8 decks.
This one works great, was probably used very little, and as will happen came with a few family home videos I will see if I can reunite with those they belong to.
