We hope everyone is stocked up and prepared for the winter storm heading our way. Current forecasts show the potential for this to be one of the largest snowfalls we’ve seen in many years. Several areas are already declaring a state of emergency and advising residents to prepare for slower removal and extended cleanup efforts.

Please know that we are fully geared up and as prepared as possible for this storm. We kindly ask for your patience as we navigate the severity and duration of the snowfall. Our crews will be working hard and giving it everything we’ve got; however, progress across our route may be slower than normal.

Depending on how the storm develops, multiple plowing cycles may be necessary. With snowfall potentially spanning two days, it may not be practical—or safe—to wait until all snow has fallen before beginning service. We have already discussed a plan of attack with several property owners and managers to ensure the best possible approach.

For properties that typically receive salting after plowing, we may also pre-salt as conditions warrant. As outlined in our contract, if snowfall reaches our second service level (5–8 inches), a 30% increase applies. Accumulations exceeding 8 inches would be considered additional and discussed accordingly. This could be the first time in five years that we’ve had to move into second-level pricing.

That said, we want to assure you that we are fully committed to keeping costs as low as possible. In past storms that exceeded Level 1 snowfall (2–4 inches), we have often held pricing at Level 1. Our priority has never been profit—it’s providing reliable, high-quality service and fair pricing for our loyal customers.

Hopefully, Mother Nature cooperates and delivers a manageable snowfall for all of us.
