Day 7 - Scripture Meditation for Sabbath Week

Psalms 46:10-11
This week is what we call our Sabbath week.
Biblically, the Sabbath is an opportunity where every 7th day, we rest from work and reflect on our focus and dependence on God and enjoy all that he has given us in this life. After 6 days of creation, God himself rested on the 7th day.
We encourage EVERYONE that’s a part of the New Generation family to find one day every week to practice a Sabbath rest.
To model this as a church, every 7th week, we take a week to rest from all church activities to focus on the Lord and remember that we depend on Him alone to build his church, and to enjoy all the other things God has given us in this life.
This Sabbath week, while we rest from church activities, we are focusing on practicing SILENCE and SOLITUDE. In the Bible, Jesus often practiced Silence, which is getting away from noise, and Solitude, which is getting away from people, in order to spend time with God the Father. As you enjoy the Sabbath rest from church activities, take some time each day to practice silence and solitude and meditate daily on these scriptures and pray…
