Today, we honor Juneteenth, a day commemorating our acknowledgement of the end of slavery in the U.S. Today we celebrate Black freedom, resilience, and achievement.
Observed annually on June 19th, Juneteenth marks the day in 1865 when enslaved people in Galveston, Texas learned of their freedom, more than two years after the Emancipation Proclamation was issued.
At Reel Works, we believe storytelling has the power to preserve history, amplify diverse voices, and inspire change. As we celebrate, we reaffirm our commitment to supporting creators and ensuring that stories from all communities are seen, heard, and valued.
