I know you’ve tried various diets - keto, fasting, Weight Watchers, Optavia...with the best of intentions. You start off full of hope, motivation, and determination, convinced that this is the one that will finally work for you 🤞🏼
And it does, for a little while… You lose weight, feel amazing, and think you’re on top of the world…But then life gets in the way 🤯 - social events, holidays, vacations, and work commitments.
You struggle to stay on track, and before you know it, you’re throwing in the towel completely 🤦♀️ that diet that seemed so promising just weeks prior is left to collect dust for another day… another time…
The problem isn’t you; it’s the diets themselves 🚫
Okay maybe it’s a little bit of you 😉🚩 mostly because you KEEP going back to the diets that don’t work! (Red flag). You think restrictive diets (like keto & Weight Watchers) are the answer to weight loss, but they can actually lead to your disordered eating & weight regain 🤯
These diets often come with a set of rigid rules that suck the fun out of life 🤪:
Don’t eat after 6 pm 🕰️ (because your body somehow magically changes at that hour?)
Cut out all carbs 🍞 (as if whole grains, fruits, and veggies are the enemy?)
Only eat ‘clean’ foods 🥗 (whatever that even means?)
Don’t eat fruit because it’s too high in sugar 🍉 (um, isn’t fruit supposed to be good for you?)
You can’t eat out 🍴 (because restaurants are bad for you?)
You HAVE to follow your meal plan 📝 (no flexibility allowed?)
These rules are not only unrealistic, but also damaging. They lead to disordered eating patterns, guilt, and shame…
And the worst part? You always gain the weight back because the diet was unsustainable in the first place 🤦♀️.
Before starting any new diet, ask yourself: can I eat this way forever? If the answer is no, it’s time to rethink your approach.
