All questions with no definite answers belong to the realm of philosophy. The philosopher is one that finds leisure in understanding the questions more than having any concrete absolutist certainty.

What is philosophy? Russell's classic answer:

“Philosophy, as I shall understand the word, is something intermediate between theology and science. Like theology, it consists of speculations on matters as to which definite knowledge has, so far, been unascertainable; but like science, it appeals to human reason rather than to authority, whether that of tradition or that of revelation. All definite knowledge — so I should contend — belongs to science; all dogma as to what surpasses definite knowledge belongs to theology. But between theology and science there is a No Man's Land, exposed to attack from both sides; this No Man's Land is philosophy.”

— Bertrand Russell, A History of Western Philosophy (1945), Introductory, p. xili

Russell continues:

“Philosophy cannot itself determine the ends of life, but it can free us from the tyranny of prejudice and from distortions due to a narrow view. Love, beauty, knowledge, and joy of life: these things retain their lustre however wide our purview. And if philosophy can help us to feel the value of these things, it will have played its part in man’s collective work of bringing light into a world of darkness.“

— Bertrand Russell, An Outline of Philosophy (1927), Part IV. The Universe, Ch. 27: Man's Place in the Universe, p. 381

She built a reputation for photographing scientists, writers, and artists. Forced to flee from the N***s in 1937, she settled in London. Her work is held in major collections, including the National Portrait Gallery in London.

Compassion is always free.

Not everyone has the space, time, or resources to adopt a pet. Not everyone is in a position to rescue an animal in need.

And that's okay.
But kindness doesn't always require opening your home.
Sometimes, it simply means choosing not to cause harm.
It means not throwing things at stray animals for being in the wrong place at the wrong time. It means not abandoning pets when they become inconvenient. It means teaching children to treat animals with compassion instead of fear or cruelty. It means speaking up when you witness neglect or abuse.

For an animal, the absence of cruelty can be just as meaningful as an act of rescue.
Every day, countless cats and dogs suffer not because nobody saved them, but because someone chose to hurt them, ignore them, or look away.

You may not be able to save every animal you meet.
But you can choose to be one less person they need saving ❤️

🧠 CALL FOR ABSTRACTS: A Historic First for Philippine Philosophy!

‎The Philippines is finally taking its seat at the global table to conduct its very own humanist academic conference dedicated entirely to the discourse of secular ideas!

‎Around the world, secular humanist organizations and non-sectarian universities consistently hold prestigious academic congresses. This year, the 1st HAPI Secular Philosophical Paper Conference creates an unprecedented dedicated space for secular academics, freethinkers, and intellectuals across disciplines to push the boundaries of philosophical discourse!

‎📌Co-Organized and Supported By: HAPI, HAPI Secular & Existential Philosophies, and Humanists International

‎⁉️What happens when we pull back the curtain of dogma?

‎The theme “Discarding God: Values and Reason in a Worldview Without Religion” is a deliberate shift away from systems built on faith, divine command, and supernatural judgment. By stepping outside these traditional boundaries, we dare to ask the ultimate question:

‎Without a deity, how do we define morality? Where do we find purpose? What becomes of our view of the physical world and metaphysical reality?

‎In a deeply conservative society that often paints disbelief as an illness caused by the devil or an anomaly, this conference stands as a vital act of intellectual resistance; a place where evidence, critical inquiry, and unconditional empathy become our only source of truth.

‎This event is open to philosophy majors (and academics of other disciplines), atheists, agnostics, deists, pantheists, panentheists, non-theists, secular individuals, non-religious believers, and curious, open-minded, friendly believers
